I like this app a lot. It works well for what I need I wish there was a way to back it up. And the way for it to duplicate across the Apple devices.

Worthless

I loved this app, it it’s no longer being updated and it has major issues in the new iOS updates. You can’t edit anymore. Extremely buggy.

Can't copy songs off ul guitar anymore probably something ul guitar is doing but makes this program useless this is on iPad using safari Really ruins the program After hours of checking support pages and blah blah I found that when on the ul guitar page that if scroll down past the comments box, the song was displayed again and in that version I could select and copy text still finicky though... bunch of nonsense ,might be first version had video that I think you can play in sync with lyrics, maybe , and maybe That causes you not to be able to copy that version only guess.

I would like to be able to sync all my devices. That would make this a perfect... songbook app!

Great for musicians who need to manage backing tracks with lyric and chord charts. Assemble set lists easily. Imports or exports PDFs. Email complete set lists to other pg songbook users. Very flexible. Rock solid. Does everything as described and does it very well. Get it!

Surprisingly simple to use, easy to get lyrics and chords from the Internet and format. Worth every penny.

June 2016. Still the best app in the App Store for gigging musicians. I just transferred all my songs to my new iPad Pro. I put the songs into Set Lists, then emailed them to myself...opened each sent set list with PG Songbook, and everything transferred. EasyPeesy! PG Guitar Songbook is the best app! I have been using it for a couple of years now, and it just keeps getting better. The developer is responsive to suggestions and incorporates them into new updates. Every other musician that sees this on my iPad when I'm playing out immediately writes the name down to download! That's the best endorsement I can give!

Great app, a must-have for any performing musician or band. Instructions are clear but app very intuitive.

This is a great app for using chords and lead sheets. It's very easy to grab chords and lyrics from the Internet and format them for easy use on stage or in a jam session. I really like the motion scroll feature!

Great app! I was mainly looking for an app that would let me transpose a song for flexibility for my choir and this app gives you that! Just make sure your song is in proper chordpro format or else you'll get very angry like me and wonder why you're songs aren't being properly transported

This has everything a gigging guitarist needs in one place. That you can search a song and get the tab into your iPad easily will save me tons of time and money. The playlist feature is fantastic for putting together sets for worship services and even busking. I think my favorite features are the auto scroll features, you can configure the app to advance the song just by tapping whatever you have the iPad sitting on! You can tap the foot of your music stand with your toe and the song advances! FANTASTIC! Buy it just buy it...

Very useful at keeping your music together and collecting tabs from across the internet. The one frustrating thing is trying to remember on which iOS device I've put a particular song....on iPod? No....on iPhone? No, but darn I know I have that song... Ah there it is in the iPad version... My advice is to only keep this app on only one device if you are like me and have the habit of putting stuff on different iOS devices and expect it to always be available. If the author provides this one feature, then it would be a definite five stars for me.

This app is amazingly powerful! It does everything you need to organize, edit, import (from the net with a couple of clicks), scroll for live performances (think teleprompter here), share with friends via a multitude of media, print, create play lists, link to mp3 collection and on and on. The more I use it the more options I learn about. All I can say is buy it and use it! Dave Ganapoler

This app is amazing! I use it to create sets for worship services. Type in the title and artist of the song, do a simple web search, and copy and paste any chord sheet right into the app (formatting preserved). You can easily edit the song however you want, and then create a playlist with all of the songs you want to use at a time. From that playlist, you can create a pdf file, which can be printed for the rest of the band, with page numbers at the bottom so that they can keep their music in order. On your iPad, you can flip through the playlist like pages in a book. It also includes autoscroll functions. This app is so easy to use, and makes my life so much easier!

Been playing guitar since I was 12. I am now approaching 60. You can't even imagine how many times I have painstakingly written down the lyrics and chords to songs over the years, on scraps of paper, notebooks, napkins etc. All get lost or torn , or ragged and destroyed. Now, finally, an app that automatically gets my favorite songs, lyrics, and chords, and stores them so that I can display, scroll, link to iTunes version. Unbelievably easy to use. In just one day, I have 70 of my favorite songs in my ipad. One click of a button and I am playing songs AND EVEN BETTER YET, I did not have to type one lyric or one single chord. Thank You. Great app for real guitar players. You could easily gig with this app.

I looked at about 6 of this type apps and purchased 4 (their cheap) Read the instructions and played with them. This was the easiest to work with. The instructions were to the point and written by someone who speaks English. It has all the features needed for someone performing in public who does not have a photographic memory. Buy it and have fun.

VERY disapointed ! want my money back ! thought I was getting a song book not an empty book to put songs I find in ! bummed out !

I thought this was a songbook, but its actually just a word processor of sorts. Most of my scores are in PDF, so there's no way to import them.

I like getting together with friends and playing songs. Now me and my friends are using this app to compile all our faves to sing on our own or together at camp outs or what have you. I really love it. As far as comstructive feedback I'd say it could be a little prettier in terms of design and the .chopro formatting system could be a little more user friendly. It's not complicated but making it less "programmy" would be nice. Bonus features might be to be able to sync with a friend somehow within the app, and have multiple songbooks. Also an AppleTV out would be Great. That said, its just the app I was looking for and features like autoscroll and transpose are simply dynamite.

I never rate apps, however this is amazing! I have searched for a chord app like this for years to replace my old, heavy, messy, hard copy chord book.. This is exactly how I would have created it myself.

I would have rated it 5stars if it had an option for the Nashville notation system and the ability to transfer songs via WiFi.

Top app I've seen for pros, doing gigs. Scroll function and transposing are a breeze. I've downloaded songs in seconds in order to fulfill requests, which amazed fans, leading to tip$ that have paid for this app ten times over. I haven't found anything better...don't expect to. Excellent! With a little practice I can put some 300 songs with chords. This is most awesome, do not have to carry binders of songs. Thank You Awesome , awesome , awesome!!!

This app has only a few bells and whistles, but it's largely stable, quick to load and easy to mater, once you get the hang of the interface and the syntax, which are not difficult. I may upgrade to a more expensive app one day that offers more features, but for the price, I'm very happy with the way Perfect Guitar Song Book performs.

Just bought this app a few hours ago. So far it's one of the best apps I've ever bought! Easy to navigate and does exactly what it's advertised to do...buy this one!

This is one of the reasons I got an iPad.

Devs: Imagine your playing a few tunes in a dark bar on open mic night. The only bright light is YOUR IPAD!!! Now imagine you click on "settings" and flip to "night mode". The iPad changes to a black background with white letters and blue chord letters. Now imagine how cool that would be. Now implement the change so I can give you another star! EDIT: There is another problem with what might someday be my favorite app. After I exit a song, the app forgets the speed I set the auto scroll at. So EVERY one of my 200 songs needs to be re-calibrated every time I open them. The app should REMEMBER the speed I set the scroll at. This way, when I open a song, all I have to do is press play, and I can perform it. There is an app called MusicStand that does this. Look into it.

Other apps have tabs but none have the ability to change the tabs yourself. There have been so many times when I find a tab online but disagree with one or two chords. Now I can change the tab so it's perfect. Importing tabs from websites is super easy and editing them can be as painless or involved as you want. I'm a perfectionist so I love that I can go into it and define the chorus of the song and the exact place where the chords match the lyrics. The other thing I love about it is that I can finally play along live with a tab. There have been so many times when I play and sing along with a tab and then the tab stops after the first chorus and says "repeat chord pattern for the rest of the song". Now I can make sure that I have the COMPLETE song and lyrics for when I'm playing live. One of my favorite features is being able to tap the table where your iPad is sitting to scroll the song. I would love to see the ability to customize how many lines the app scrolls and the speed at which it scrolls, however. Sometimes it catches me off guard when it skips so quickly and can be a bit disorienting. Nevertheless, this app is the best alternative I've found to having to stop playing to scroll. I do believe future updates may make this app perfect. For now I give it four stars because it is a great concept and if it were to implement some of the things I outlined above as well as suggestions from others I would give it five stars. This app is definitely worth the price. Especially considering that other apps charge a monthly fee for tabs.

Great but I can t import files from pc and I wish it would keep its functionality ( shack2scroll) when displaying songs in its original format like PDF or word doc

What a great alternative to carrying around binders full of chord charts. I just downloaded the iPad app yesterday and have entered a few songs, both manually and from the Internet. It's easy to use and has an attractive interface. I haven't gotten around to using every feature yet, but this is a winner! If I could suggest one improvement to make it more convenient to use it would be that when entering the chord letter after the bracket symbol ( for example [E] ) if it would automatically put the first letter of the chord in as an upper case letter. Thanks for a very useful app.

I am rating this app five stars for one feature, the ability to turn the page with a tap of the foot. I have found it impossible to get scrolling in other apps to accomplish what I need to do. Getting all of my songs to fit on one page just can't be done in a font I can read on an ipad and add on foot switches that work in other apps are expensive and just one more piece of gear to keep track of. The only problem so far was my inability to read the help files an email to the developer was promptly answered and got me past my self induced roadblock. Free tech tip: If your song files are .txt format just rename them to .pro prior to file transfer in iTunes. Thanks for the solution to the page turn issue. I am using my iPad on a music stand and a gentle tap on the stand base does the trick! Please keep updating and adding features. I would like to be able to have more control of font / colors / background color Thanks again for a great app.
